Making it Grow

We were on the show “Making it Grow” on August 24, 2010.  We brought a selection of cookies, muffins and boxes to the LIVE show. It was fun talking  with Jackie from the SC Specialty Food Association and Amanda, master gardener, and one of the hosts of the show.

You can watch the show from the link below and go to August 24, 2010 show:

How fun are cookie swaps?

New cookies to try, new recipes, and meeting new friends. Tami has had a cookies swap for 20 years!  Yes, 20 years.  So this was definitely a special event.

She wanted to give a hand decorated sugar cookie award to the friends that had participated in the cookie swap the longest.  First place was 10 years in attendance and there were 3 tied for second with 9 years.  Wow!

Congratulations and enjoy ALL of the cookies!

Abby is one of our interns at Blue Flour and doing an incredible job!

She is working in all of the different departments from packaging, shipping, purchasing, and baking.  Abby can tie a “mean” ribbon now!

On the left, she is making her first batch of sugar cookie batter in the Blue Flour kitchen.  On the right, she is decorating our first batch of holiday gingerbread guys of the season.

Thanks for all you do Abby!

Opening Day

Today was the first day we opened for retail! Yippee!

We had a fun day with all of our repeat and new customers.

As you know, we have always partnered with local stores to sell our cookies as well as through our website.  We will continue to do everything as we have done in the past including all custom cookie orders.

Since moving into our new place at 7703 St. Andrews Road SuiteA/B five months ago, (and getting soooo many requests to open), we have decided the time was right to open to the public, one day a week.   We are now open on Friday’s from 10am-4pm, otherwise by appointment.  You can always call us at 803-407-3603 for special orders or questions.

On Friday’s we will always have our Chocolate Chip cookies and hand decorated sugar cookies.  The other fresh baked items will change each week.  (I am sure we will have some extra yummy desserts that continue week after week based upon their popularity.)  Today we offered maple sugar cookie leaves, raspberry linzer cookies, macaroons, and pecan chocolate chip squares.  You can sign up to receive the weekly menu at the sign-up box on the home page of www.blueflour.com.

Thank you to all of our wonderful customers for making this possible!

Southern Living Magazine

Wow! Southern Living magazine…

We are very excited be in the December 2008 issue of Southern Living magazine,  SC people and places.   They featured our Holiday Gift Tower which includes snowflake sugar cookies, mini classic chocolate chip cookies, and as they put it, ” really BIG delicious Blue Flour cookies”.

We have received incredible congrats from our friends, family and customers.  If it were not for all of you wonderful, supportive cookie eaters, we would not be the company that we are today!

So a BIG thank you to all of you! Happy Holidays!

Little gingerbread guys

These little guys have become one of our most popular gift items this season!

You have seen them before on the holiday gift tray with the mini chocolate chip cookies and the hand decorated sugar cookies.  We decided to wrap these babies up… I mean… wrap these mini gingerbread guys up for great gifts.  We add (4) to a bag then tie them with a red satin ribbon.

As you can see, we do not have much space in our packaging area this holiday season, so we have them on top of all of our Holiday Collection canisters for their photo shoot.

Santa is coming!

We have many curious customers!  They are asking…what are the cookie designs going to be for December 2008?

As most of you know, our holiday gifts and our cookies are baked-to-order.  We can guarantee that the designs will change as the season progresses and we will have many different requests.  You will see that there is a big gingerbread guy and gingerbread house.  These are “real” gingerbread.  If you want the shape, but in a sugar cookie, you can definitely make that request. All of these cookies are excellent gifts for teacher’s, neighbors that you like, office, and friends and famiy.  Since these cookies are baked-to-order and it is the holiday season, get you order in as soon as possible!

We love the holidays!  So let us know what we can bake for you, so you don’t have to….Ho Ho Ho!

Holiday Cookie Tray

It is not December yet, but it’s time to order your tray of hand decorated sugar cookies and mini classic chocolate chip cookies.

This selection is a combination of miniature hand decorated sugar snowflakes, evergreen trees, miniature chocolate chip cookies and little gingerbread guys.  The gingerbread cookies NEW to Blue Flour this year.

A little note on Blue Flour’s gingerbread…

I never loved gingerbread because it always had way too much molasses.  Now we make them just the way I like ‘em. They taste like our sugar cookies with a little spice.
