Birthday owls are the Best!

These hand decorated sugar cookies were decorated in four bright colors. Purple, teal, pink and lime green. They all had polka dot wings and BIG sugar eyeballs. The cookies were given out as birthday favors after the BIG party.

Happy Birthday Patrick!

Yes, it was after Halloween, but Patrick loves scary stuff. So for his Birthday he chose some blue and green hand decorated sugar cookie skeletons.  Of course they had to have BIG bloodshot eyeballs.

Hope you had a great time at the Haunted House party!

Opening Day

Today was the first day we opened for retail! Yippee!

We had a fun day with all of our repeat and new customers.

As you know, we have always partnered with local stores to sell our cookies as well as through our website.  We will continue to do everything as we have done in the past including all custom cookie orders.

Since moving into our new place at 7703 St. Andrews Road SuiteA/B five months ago, (and getting soooo many requests to open), we have decided the time was right to open to the public, one day a week.   We are now open on Friday’s from 10am-4pm, otherwise by appointment.  You can always call us at 803-407-3603 for special orders or questions.

On Friday’s we will always have our Chocolate Chip cookies and hand decorated sugar cookies.  The other fresh baked items will change each week.  (I am sure we will have some extra yummy desserts that continue week after week based upon their popularity.)  Today we offered maple sugar cookie leaves, raspberry linzer cookies, macaroons, and pecan chocolate chip squares.  You can sign up to receive the weekly menu at the sign-up box on the home page of www.blueflour.com.

Thank you to all of our wonderful customers for making this possible!

Bella Lucce can throw a party!  Bella Lucce planned a Halloween costume party and included some Blue Flour cookies at the event.  The winner of the costume party won a $75.00 gift certificate to Target.  How awesome is that?  After delivering the tray of miniature hand decorated Halloween sugar cookies to the Bella Lucce offices, I was lucky enough to be a judge for the contest.  Who do you think won? Take a look for yourself……. Yes, the devil.  There were some close seconds, but he really went over the top.  Plus, he is the only guy to work with all women, that deserves an award all by itself!

This weekend was the Pumpkin Run at our local YMCA.  There was a one mile Fun Run for the kids then a 5K for the serious runners.  Don’t think there were not some serious kids out there too!  They hung in there with their parents.  Some actually beat the parents.  It was pretty cool when they came across the finish line together as a team.  Blue Flour was ready with mini chocolate chip cookies for the kids after the finish. Congratulations to everyone that participated, including my very own competitive kids!

We participated in the University of South Carolina Farmer’s Market sponsored by the SC Department of Agriculture.  As you can see, we brought our friend Dracula to help sell our Halloween/Fall hand decorated sugar cookies.  Some of the other products that were being sold at the Market were natural soaps, candles, organic produce, local honey, artisan bread, and other baked goods.   We were definitely in good company.

Spooky Sleepover

Happy 14th Birthday Caitlin!  Caitlin loves decorated sugar cookies and wanted to share them with her friends for her spooky sleepover party tonight.

When we first started planning her birthday favors, we were going to bake and decorate sugar cookie dresses.  When Caitlin saw the Halloween cookies, she wanted those instead!  It was the perfect choice for an October Birthday!  We did some different shapes, colors and styles to surprise Caitlin, and personalized each one with her friends names.  Her little brother was able to snag a few too!

We hope that Mom will be able to get some sleep tomorrow, ’cause the girls are going to be up all night!
